Job Description The Business Intelligence Analyst in Global Planning & Demand Management team is responsible for developing analytics solutions to support the enterprise Sales & Operations planning (S&OP) community.
This position has a depth of knowledge in quantitative analytic methods, data management, and or associated digital technologies suitable to handle the most complex issues.
Challenges include meeting expectations in delivering results, learning to refine solutions to better fit complex situations, making timely decisions, ensuring quality of deliverables, and communicating effectively with all project stakeholders.
Job Duties Support Caterpillar enterprise Sales and Operations planning efforts by developing data driven analytics solutions like reports, visualizations, automated alerts to customers.
Work with business partners to understand informational needs, gather requirements and dive into data to create insights, ultimately driving sound business decisions.
Develop tools and pipelines to efficiently collect, clean, and prepare massive volumes of data for analysis.
Utilize Snowflake to prepare data using ETL framework for building reports.
Use data quality best practices to ensure the integrity of the data being used and thoroughness of results.
Prototype, develop, iterate, test, and deploy automated analytics solutions in production.
Minimize technical debt and focus on reproducibility (keep docs/code up to date, prepare for future use cases, etc.
) and automation of reports by building end to end pipelines.
Present insights and data analytics strategies to senior leadership.
Leverage business acumen to recognize new opportunities for analytics to improve Sales & Operations planning process.

Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Business Data Analysis:
Knowledge of business data analysis; ability to collect, identify, analyze, and interpret business data using various kinds of techniques to meet business needs and requirements.
Requirements Analysis:
Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree plus at least 6 years of experience Experience and strong working knowledge with Snowflake cloud data warehouse and Snow SQL, Power BI, Power Query, DAX expressions, Power BI Row-level security (RLS), Power BI Gateway and SQL Experience performing data analysis, data modeling, database development and reports / visualization development in support of BI projects.
Top Candidates will also have Experience in databases such as Oracle Self-start with ability to learn, adapt, improvise, and problem solve with poise in a rapidly changing environment.
